Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed Nataša Pirc Musar, President of Slovenia. He announced ongoing preparations for the second Summit on Peace for Ukraine, focusing on uniting countries around the Peace Formula.

“We are forming groups of nations to address the various security aspects violated by Russia,” he stated. “Our collective goal is to devise actionable plans to achieve a just and swift peace, avoiding any prolongation of this war,” Zelenskyy stated, adding that “this is a very symbolic visit — on our Constitution Day”.

He also expressed gratitude for Slovenia’s recent aid package and unwavering support for Ukraine.

Slovenia and Ukraine are nearing the signing of a bilateral security agreement, which could happen as soon as July. Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob made this statement after a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Brussels.

Golob acknowledged that Slovenia cannot provide the same level of assistance as larger countries. However, he emphasized Slovenia’s commitment to finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

The discussion between Golob and Zelenskyy centered on the outcomes of the recent Global Peace Summit and progress on the security agreement.

By July 28, Slovenia became one of the 90 countries that signed the joint Communiqué of the Summit on Peace for Ukraine.
