South Ukraine Nuclear Plant Reactor Fails, Causing Power Outages
One of the reactors was reported to have failed at the South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant.
This was stated by Oleksandr Kharchenko, Director of the Energy Research Center, with reference to two independent sources.
“Another accident at the South Ukraine NPP. Two extra queues of outages from Ukrenergo today, because the reactor of 600 MW reduced its output. Most likely, it will be repaired next week,” Kharchenko wrote.
The expert believes that if the reactor fails in winter, the country will find itself in an extremely difficult situation.
During Russia’s massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine, on August 26, the reactor No. 3 of the South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant was shut down.
