S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Founder Offers His Rolls-Royce for Sinking Russian Warship
Serhii Hryhorovych, the founder of GSC Game World, known for developing the video game S.T.A.L.K.E.R., has attracted attention by offering a Rolls-Royce, valued between $300,000 and $500,000, to anyone who manages to sink the Russian lead frigate Admiral Gryhorovych.
In an interview with Ukrainian journalist Volodymyr Zolkin, Hryhorovych explained his motivation behind his offer, stating: “There is a frigate in Russia called Admiral Grigorovich. I spoke with guys involved in this matter and promised a substantial sum for sinking it. This is simply because it shames my surname. If Admiral Grigorovich is indeed sunk, so that it does not bring shame to my surname, my children, and my parents, I am ready to give away my Rolls-Royce. Its real market price is $300,000, and it could reach $500,000 at auction.”
The businessman is willing to transfer the car in Germany. “I’ll put it on German plates with the inscription 'Bayraktar, '” he clarified. Currently, the vehicle is in Spain.
Hryhorovych added, that he is ready to drive the car to Ukraine if someone wants to receive it there. “I have six children with the surname Hryhorovych. And this 'wonder, ' this bucket, which could be dangerous for my country, is floating around.”
The Admiral Grigorovich frigate was laid down on December 18, 2010, in Kaliningrad and launched on March 14, 2014. The vessel is equipped with launch systems that can fire Kalibr and Onyx missiles, with the potential to accommodate Zircon missiles in the future.
It is the first ship of its class to be in service with the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Armed Forces. The frigate is part of the 30th division of surface ships and is named after Admiral I.K. Grigorovich, who served as the Minister of the Navy of Russia from 1911 to 1917.
Additionally, Hryhorovych discussed the upcoming release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. He confirmed that the game will be released on November 20, 2024, and that it will not feature the Russian language, stating, “I would like to ‘congratulate’ the Russians that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. will be released, but not in Russian.” The game will not be available in Russia.
