Kadyrov stated that in a video published by Russian state news agency RIA, Reuters reported.

"They've bitten us - we will destroy them," Kadyrov said. "In the very near future we'll show them the kind of vengeance they've never even dreamt of."

Ukraine has been targeting Russia with drones throughout Moscow’s invasion, but Tuesday’s strike appeared to mark the first in Chechnya. Ukraine has not issued any statements regarding the strike.

Kadyrov has been an outspoken supporter of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Earlier, it was reported that associates of Kadyrov were looting equipment, metal, and by-products from the Illich Metallurgical Plant in occupied Mariupol, Ukraine.
