“They’ve Bitten Us—We Will Destroy Them”: Kadyrov Vows Revenge After Drone Strike on Chechen Military Academy
Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov vowed vengeance for a drone attack that ignited a fire at the Russian Special Forces University named after Vladimir Putin in Gudermes, Chechnya on October 29.
Kadyrov stated that in a video published by Russian state news agency RIA, Reuters reported.
"They've bitten us - we will destroy them," Kadyrov said. "In the very near future we'll show them the kind of vengeance they've never even dreamt of."
Ukraine has been targeting Russia with drones throughout Moscow’s invasion, but Tuesday’s strike appeared to mark the first in Chechnya. Ukraine has not issued any statements regarding the strike.
Kadyrov has been an outspoken supporter of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Earlier, it was reported that associates of Kadyrov were looting equipment, metal, and by-products from the Illich Metallurgical Plant in occupied Mariupol, Ukraine.
