Trump: Agreement on Rare Earths With Ukraine to Be Signed “Very Shortly”

On March 20, US President Donald Trump stated that an agreement with Ukraine on critical minerals and rare earth elements is set to be signed soon.
Speaking at an educational event in Washington, Trump highlighted efforts to boost the production of essential minerals in the US and abroad. He emphasized Ukraine’s significant resources in this sector and noted progress in finalizing the agreement.
“We are doing very well with regard to Ukraine and Russia. One of the things we are doing is signing a deal very shortly with respect to rare earths with Ukraine, which has tremendous value in rare earths, and we appreciate that,” Trump said.
He also mentioned recent conversations with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, expressing hope for an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine.
“We would love to see that come to an end… Hopefully, we can save thousands of people a week from dying,” Trump added.
Earlier, the White House revealed that Trump has moved from a potential minerals deal with Ukraine, focusing instead on the country’s energy infrastructure.
