Trump Says He Will Meet Zelenskyy Next Week, Calls Ukraine War “Ridiculous”

US President Donald Trump stated that he will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as early as next week. He made this statement to reporters on February 7.

“I will probably be meeting with President Zelenskyy next week, and I will probably be talking to Putin. I’d like to see that war end. For one primary reason, they’re killing so many people,” Trump said.

He further emphasized the human toll of Russia’s war against Ukraine describing it as “terrible” and “ridiculous,” adding that it would not have happened under his leadership.

“I’d like to see it end just on a human basis. It’s terrible what’s going on. They have open fields with no protection. The only thing a bullet can hit is a human body, and the human body dies as soon as it gets hit. Now, I’d like to see that end. It’s a ridiculous war. It would have never started if I were president,” Trump stated.
