The following day, April 11, the UK and Germany will jointly host a separate meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, also known as the Ramstein format, at NATO headquarters. The date was confirmed by both the UK delegation to NATO and previously announced by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
The “Coalition of the Willing” was formed as a joint initiative by the UK and France to coordinate potential post-war peacekeeping efforts in Ukraine. It brings together nations willing to contribute personnel or other forms of support once a ceasefire is in place.
Previous meetings of the coalition were held in London and Paris, with the latest summit convened by French President Emmanuel Macron on March 27.
That event brought together representatives from over 20 countries, including EU member states, the United Kingdom, Canada, Norway, and Turkey. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also participated.
Earlier, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated that his government is exploring the best ways to support Ukraine following a summit in London. The move comes as part of a broader UK-France initiative to form a “Coalition of the Willing”.
