The United Kingdom has committed an additional £25 million (approximately $33 million) to support humanitarian initiatives in Ukraine, reinforcing its unwavering support for the Ukrainian people amid ongoing challenges caused by the war.

According to European Pravda, this was announced by the British government’s press service on May 9.

This financial aid will be distributed across several critical areas. A substantial portion of £10 million ($13 million) is earmarked for the HAVEN humanitarian network, a coalition of organizations providing life-saving support to civilians in frontline regions.

An additional £9.4 million ($12.4 million) will be directed to the Ukrainian Red Cross, one of the country’s largest and most trusted humanitarian organizations. This funding will not only enhance their capacity to deliver medical aid, distribute relief supplies, and provide shelter but will also focus on upgrading and expanding rehabilitation centers.

Earlier, The European Commission had disbursed the fourth tranche of €1 billion in macro-financial assistance to Ukraine as part of the G7 initiative known as the “Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration” (ERA). The funding originates from the profits accumulated from frozen Russian assets.
