UK Foreign Secretary: UK Commitment to Ukraine Extends Beyond Winter, It’s A Century-Long Partnership
In a recent press conference, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy emphasized that the UK’s commitment to Ukraine extends far beyond this winter, highlighting a partnership that spans a century. Lammy addressed the issues of imperialism, fascism, and authoritarian regimes, linking these concepts to the actions of Russian leader Vladimir Putin. He also expressed concern over Iranian-provided ballistic missiles, describing them as “a significant and dangerous escalation.”
Lammy announced a substantial aid package, which includes:
$600 million designated for various forms of support
$242 million in aid for the current financial year
$484 million allocated in loan guarantees
Additionally, he confirmed that the UK will be sending hundreds of air defense missiles, ammunition, and extra armored vehicles to Ukraine by the end of the year.
