British Defense Secretary John Healey noted that the military support provided by the international coalition is having a direct effect on the situation at the front.

Ukrainian forces achieved a significant milestone in March by destroying a record 33,000 Russian drones, according to RBC on April 15.

This increase in defensive effectiveness coincides with a notable rise in Russian personnel losses, which grew by nearly one-third over the last month.

Healey stated that for four consecutive months, the Russian military has been losing more soldiers than it is able to recruit. He attributed these results to the effectiveness of the Ukrainian military strategy and the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Defense Secretary remarked that "Ukrainian lives are being saved while Russian losses are rising. Last month, Ukrainian forces destroyed a record 33,000 Russian drones. In March, losses increased by almost a third, and for four months in a row, Russia has been losing more soldiers than it can recruit."

Healey also commented on the broader geopolitical context, suggesting that Moscow hopes international attention will shift toward other global issues while it continues to launch mass drone and missile strikes against Ukrainian civilians and infrastructure.

He concluded by reinforcing the commitment of allied nations to support Kyiv. Healey mentioned that "as members of the 'Contact Group', our mission remains the same: to support Ukraine today to ensure peace tomorrow."

He added that "Putin wants us to be distracted by the situation in the Middle East while he continues to attack Ukraine with thousands of drones and hundreds of missiles, killing civilians, destroying homes, and paralyzing Ukraine's infrastructure."

Just a day earlier, Ukraine and Germany have finalized a significant defense agreement valued at €4 billion ($4.3 billion), aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s air defense, enhancing long-range strike capabilities, and initiating joint drone production, as stated by Mykhailo Fedorov.

The defense package encompasses several crucial elements, including Germany’s funding for the procurement of several hundred Patriot missiles, which will notably strengthen the defense of Ukrainian cities and vital infrastructure.

Additionally, the agreement includes the delivery of 36 IRIS-T launch systems, further fortifying Ukraine’s multi-layered air defense capabilities.
