On October 9, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković in Dubrovnik, where they signed an Agreement on Long-Term Support and Cooperation between their countries. The meeting focused on key topics including defense assistance, humanitarian demining, the rehabilitation of children and injured soldiers, Ukraine’s reconstruction, and the country’s European integration efforts.

During the meeting, Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of developing collaboration in the defense industrial sector, noting that Croatia will continue to provide equipment and share knowledge related to humanitarian demining.

Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for Croatia’s unwavering support since the onset of Russian aggression in 2014.

Previously, it was reported that Zelenskyy arrived in Croatia on October 9 to participate in the Ukraine-Southeast Europe summit in Dubrovnik. This summit, organized in collaboration with Plenković, aims to demonstrate solidarity and support for Ukraine from Southeast European countries. It is the third such summit, following meetings in Athens in August 2022 and Tirana in February 2024. High-ranking officials from 12 Balkan countries are expected to attend, with a joint declaration anticipated to include key points such as condemnation of Russian aggression and support for Ukraine’s aspirations to join the EU and NATO.
