Ukraine Confirms June 30 Strike on Russian 8th Army HQ, Disrupting Operations in Donetsk

The Defense Forces of Ukraine confirmed that a high-precision strike was conducted on June 30 against the command post of Russia’s 8th Combined Arms Army, located in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region.
According to the official statement issued on July 1, the operation was aimed at disrupting Russian military planning and coordination efforts in eastern Ukraine. Preliminary information indicates that the strike was successful, though the scale of personnel and equipment losses is still under evaluation.
The Ukrainian military stated that the strike “significantly complicates the enemy’s ability to plan and conduct operations in the Pokrovsk and Toretsk directions.”

The Defense Forces further affirmed their intent to continue targeting critical elements of the Russian military’s command structure, emphasizing efforts to “systematically dismantle the command and communication infrastructure of the armed forces of the aggressor state.”
In reiterating Ukraine’s long-term strategic objective, the statement concluded: “Ukraine will continue the fight until all Russian troops are withdrawn from our territory and a just and lasting peace is established.”
Previously, it was reported that Ukraine strikes on military infrastructure in Donetsk and Luhansk using Storm Shadow missiles.
