Ukraine Rescues 6 More Children From Russian-Occupied Territories
Six more children have been returned to Ukraine from temporarily occupied territories through the Bring Kids Back UA initiative.
This was announced by the Adviser to the Head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office and COO of Bring Kids Back UA, Daria Zarivna.
Among them is 14-year-old Artem, whose family was held hostage under occupation. He was denied the necessary documents to leave, and his mother was later abducted. While Artem managed to escape, his father remains in the occupied territory.
Another case involves 16-year-old Vitalii, whose classmates were forcibly registered for military conscription. To avoid the same fate, he skipped school to stay under the radar.
“These are just two stories among thousands. We must put an end to Russia’s horrific crimes against our children and ensure their return home. All of them. Without exceptions or conditions,“ Zarivna wrote.
Bring Kids Back UA is an initiative by Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy aimed at uniting the efforts of all Ukrainian government bodies, other countries, and international and non-governmental organizations to return all Ukrainian children deported and forcibly transferred by Russia.
To date, Ukraine has successfully repatriated 1,019 children from Russian-controlled and occupied areas. However, nearly 20,000 more remain in Russian-held territories, forcibly relocated and separated from their families.
