Ukraine to Finalize Three Security Agreements at European Council Meeting, Says Zelenskyy
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in Brussels to participate in a European Council meeting and finalize three security agreements, including one with the European Union.
"These days, Ukraine has started actual negotiations on EU membership. Today, I am in Brussels to take part in the meeting of the European Council and to thank all European leaders for their unity and for confirming the irreversibility of our European course," wrote Zelenskyy.
"We will sign three security agreements at once, one of which is with the European Union as a whole. For the first time, it will establish the commitment of all 27 member states to provide Ukraine with broad support despite any internal institutional changes," the President added.
Last week, the Ukrainian President's Office announced that Ukraine and the European Union concluded their last round of negotiations on a bilateral security agreement.
The EU summit will take place in Brussels on Thursday and Friday, 27-28 June.
European Union leaders are scheduled to finalize the EU's strategic direction on Thursday, along with appointing leaders for the bloc's institutions over the next five years. The discussions will emphasize supporting Ukraine against Russia and bolstering the EU's defense capabilities.
