Ukraine to Host a Second Peace Summit After the US Elections
Ukraine’s second Peace Summit, initially planned to take place before the US presidential elections, on November 5 has been postponed, an advisor to the head of the President’s Office Daria Zarivna stated on October 8.
“The Second World Peace Summit will not take place in November, but all preparations will be completed. Currently, thematic conferences on each point of the Peace Formula are being held,” Zarivna said.
She explained that the conclusions from these conferences would form the basis for the final peace plan of the second summit.
The final thematic conference is scheduled for October 30-31 in Canada and will focus on humanitarian issues, including the release of prisoners of war, civilian hostages, and the return of Ukrainian children.
Zarivna later added that the exact date of the second summit will be decided after the end of the thematic conferences.
Earlier, it was reported that Switzerland backs China-Brazil’s Ukraine peace initiative, despite omissions on UN charter and hosting the first Global Peace Summit.
Additionally, Swiss abassador to Ukraine stated that Swiss support of China-Brazil’s peace initiative is a “misunderstanding”.
