Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukraine and the United States are preparing for another round of talks. The initial results are expected next week, according to RBC Ukraine on March 5.

Speaking during an evening address on March 5, Zelenskyy said, “Today, our teams—from Ukraine and the United States—began working on the meeting. Andrii Yermak [Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine] and Michael Waltz [U.S. National Security Advisor] spoke, there is positive movement. We hope for the first results next week.”

The president also provided an update on Ukraine’s broader diplomatic efforts. On the same day, he spoke with the prime ministers of the Netherlands, Portugal, and Slovenia, as well as with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from European leaders.

Ukraine is also preparing for an EU summit scheduled for March 6 in Brussels. Zelenskyy underscored the importance of resuming progress on European integration, specifically within the context of Ukraine’s accession negotiations. “We count on the support of our partners,” he added.

The two agreed to meet soon to discuss security issues and coordinate their positions on key bilateral matters. They are also in the process of finalizing a date, location, and team for upcoming talks aimed at ending the war against Ukraine.

Earlier on March 5, the United States will consider resuming military aid to Ukraine if progress is made in negotiations, according to White House National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.
