Ukraine Wipes Out Russia’s $40M S-300V Air Defense System in Zaporizhzhia, Video

Fighters from the UAV special unit Lasar’s group of Ukraine’s National Guard have destroyed a Russian S-300V air defense launcher in the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region.
According to journalist Yurii Butusov, who published video evidence of the strike, the operation targeted a self-propelled launcher equipped with two transport-launch containers. The vehicle was positioned on a road within Russian-controlled territory.

The S-300V system was deployed to provide air and missile defense for Russian troops and infrastructure in the area. After being struck, the launcher’s missiles detonated, causing a large explosion and fire that led to its complete destruction.
The reported value of the destroyed launcher is estimated at around $40 million. Details regarding the fate of the Russian personnel operating the system remain unknown.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence released video of drone strikes in Crimea that analysts later confirmed had destroyed a Russian 98L6 “Yenisey” radar—the primary radar of the S-500 air defense system.
The loss of this radar, capable of tracking ballistic missiles and hypersonic targets, represents a significant setback for Russia’s long-range detection capabilities on the peninsula.
