According to Zelenskyy, this figure has been agreed upon with the military command and reflects the real state of the Armed Forces.

The president recalled that earlier drafts mentioned significantly smaller numbers: “Remember, back in 2022 they proposed limits of 40 or 50 thousand?”

He emphasized that the current version has undergone thorough revision and it was “refined sufficiently.”

“Today, the document contains the real size of our current army—800,000 troops,” the president confirmed.

Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented that the US proposal for a compromise on the situation in Donetsk raises several unresolved issues and does not fully align with Ukraine’s interests.

He explained that, according to the American side, the proposal suggests that Ukrainian forces would withdraw from the Donetsk area, with the assumption that Russian forces would not enter.
