Another difficult night for the Ukrainian energy industry. On the night of June 20, Russia attacked Ukraine with 9 missiles and 27 Shahed drones, damaging energy infrastructure in four regions and injuring 3 workers.
The national power company “Ukrenergo” reported damage in four infrastructure facilities in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Kyiv regions.
DTEK Energy Company reported that the attack injured three of its employees.
Equipment at the station was also seriously damaged. Engineers are currently working on eliminating the consequences of the attack.
“This is the seventh massive attack on the company’s thermal power plants in the last three months,” DTEK reported.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has struck the DTEK thermal power plants more than 180 times, injuring 53 workers and killing 3.
Russia’s repeated attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure are causing a big energy shortage and long hours of blackouts. The General Director of YASNO energy company, Serhii Kovalenko, is predicting a difficult time in the next one and a half months.
