General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced a comprehensive transformation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, focusing on military training, recruitment and social support, technological advancements, and management processes, on December 13.
“The Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine must become high-tech, agile, and adaptive—an elite force! Our focus is on people, technology, and transparent governance,” stated Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi.
The transformation will include reforms in recruitment and training, the integration of advanced technologies and battle management systems, the digitalization of military processes, as well as overhauls in logistics, command structures, and social support for personnel, according to the General Staff.
Drapatyi added that these changes have the full support of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and will be implemented in coordination with the General Staff, the Ministry of Defense, and civil society, including volunteers and charitable organizations.
"The Ground Forces need change, new energy from warriors, and modern approaches to developing their capabilities. Above all, we need to focus on people. Human dignity and quality training of personnel are at the center of my attention," the Commander stated.
He explained that programs will be reformatted, and training centers will be transformed to provide faster yet high-quality training that meets the evolving needs and dynamics of the frontlines.
The first areas to experience management reforms will be logistics and military training, as these are deemed critical to the combat readiness of the Ukrainian forces, the General Staff noted.
Previously on December 10, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking at the ceremony for the Boris Paton National Prize honoring Ukrainian scientists, announced key advancements in Ukraine’s defense industry.
