“Natus Vincere,” the Ukrainian esports team, also known as NaVi, made history as the first champions of Counter-Strike 2 at the Esports World Cup 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. They secured victory over Germany’s G2 in a closely contested final with a score of 2:1.

The final match began with G2 narrowly clinching Ancient (16:14), though NaVi countered to force overtime, where G2 ultimately prevailed. NaVi bounced back on Nuke, initially tied at halftime (6:6), dominating the latter rounds for a 13:6 victory. The decisive map, Inferno, saw NaVi establish an early lead (9:3), which they maintained to win convincingly (13:6) and claim the championship.

Earlier in March, Natus Vincere achieved another milestone by becoming the inaugural champions of Counter-Strike 2 at the PGL Major Copenhagen 2024. In a hard-fought final against FaZe Clan, NaVi emerged victorious with a score of 2:1, securing a prestigious $1,250,000 prize pool. Throughout both tournaments, NaVi showcased their strategic depth and resilience, featuring a diverse roster from Ukraine, Lithuania, Romania, and Finland, guided by coach Andrii “B1ad3” Gorodenskyi.
