Ukrainian Special Operations Forces carried out a series of coordinated long-range drone strikes against Russian military targets in the temporarily occupied parts of Ukraine’s Donetsk region overnight, releasing video footage of the operation on January 1.

According to the Special Operations Forces, precision drone strikes destroyed a command post belonging to an assault unit of Russia’s 68th Tank Regiment, part of the 150th Motorized Rifle Division of the 8th Combined Arms Army.

The command facility was located in the town of Andriivka. Ukrainian forces said all strike assets reached their intended targets.

In a separate strike, Ukrainian drones hit a fuel and lubricants storage facility in Ilovaisk. The logistics hub was reportedly supplying Russia’s 51st Combined Arms Army and played a key role in sustaining frontline operations.

Another strike targeted Russian drone infrastructure at Donetsk Airport, where Ukrainian long-range drones destroyed a storage site used to house Shahed-type and Geran loitering munitions.

The Special Operations Forces emphasized the cumulative impact of the strikes on Russian combat capabilities.

“The Special Operations Forces continue to inflict disproportionate damage on the Russian army, undermining its offensive capabilities and military potential,” the statement said.

The released footage shows coordinated nighttime strikes, reinforcing Kyiv’s growing reliance on long-range unmanned systems to degrade Russian command, logistics, and drone operations deep behind the front lines.

Earlier, Ukrainian strike drones carried out attacks on an oil depot in the town of Lyudinovo, Kaluga Region, and the Ilsky Oil Refinery in Krasnodar Krai, Russia.
