Additionally, on January 1, the Ilsky Oil Refinery in Krasnodar Krai was hit, causing a major fire. Ilsky NPP processes over 6 million tons of oil annually and is an essential supplier of fuel for the Russian military.
Just a day earlier, on the night of December 31, Tuapse, a city in Russia’s Krasnodar region, was targeted in a drone strike that severely impacted the local oil refinery, igniting a massive fire.
According to Russian authorities, the attack left two people injured, both of whom were hospitalized. In addition to the damage at the refinery, the attack also caused significant destruction to five residential buildings, a port pier, a gas pipeline in a residential area, and other refinery equipment.

Previously, drone strikes targeted a Russian state fuel storage facility in the city of Rybinsk, causing a significant fire at a site integral to Russia’s strategic fuel reserves.
The attack hit the Federal State Institution Kombinat “Temp,” which is part of Russia's Rosrezerv system responsible for maintaining fuel and other essential reserves. Mikhail Evraev, the Governor of Yaroslavl region, later confirmed that drones had struck the area.
