Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,390 Troops, 33 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russia lost an estimated 1,390 troops, 33 artillery systems, and three tanks over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on September 6.

According to the latest Ukrainian military figures, Russia’s total personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,496,440.

Russian forces also lost five armored combat vehicles over the latest reporting period, bringing cumulative losses to 12,331 tanks and 25,278 armored combat vehicles.

Artillery losses climbed to 49,260 systems after another 33 were recorded over the past day. Ukraine also reported three additional Russian multiple-launch rocket systems lost, bringing the total to 2,096, while estimated air defense system losses rose by one to 1,605.

Russia’s estimated aviation losses remained unchanged at 441 aircraft and 355 helicopters. The General Staff reported another five unmanned ground systems lost over the past day, raising the cumulative figure in that category to 2,507.

Another 1,435 operational-tactical UAVs were recorded as lost during the latest 24-hour period, bringing Russia’s total to 501,244.

Russia’s other estimated losses stand at 5,070 cruise missiles, 35 ships and boats, two submarines, 144,435 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,644 pieces of special equipment. Another 392 vehicles and fuel tankers were recorded as lost over the past day.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian and Russian forces clashed 245 times across the front during the latest reporting period, with the Pokrovsk sector seeing the heaviest fighting. Russian forces launched 43 attacks there, according to Ukraine’s General Staff.

Over the past day, Russian forces also carried out 87 airstrikes, dropped 288 guided aerial bombs, deployed 8,340 attack drones, and conducted 2,389 shelling attacks against Ukrainian positions and settlements, including 32 using multiple-launch rocket systems.

Earlier, Ukrainian forces advanced in parts of the Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, while Russian troops failed to make confirmed gains across several key frontline sectors, according to ISW.
