Ukrainian Armed Forces Destroy Russian Tank Column Near Kurakhove, Video
Ukrainian forces have successfully repelled a Russian tank assault on the Kurakhove front, with the 130th separate territorial defense battalion taking down a Russian armored column attempting to breach defensive positions.
According to a statement from the battalion’s drone unit, “Hostri Kartusy,” the attack took place early in the morning when Russian forces launched an attempt to storm the village of Maksymivka, located south of Kurakhove.
The Russian assault force included four tanks and six infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) with infantry onboard, aiming to encircle Ukrainian troops in the area.
Equipped with anti-drone protection, the Russian column, led by a tank with a mine-clearing plow, advanced towards Ukrainian positions. The assault was intercepted by the Ukrainian reconnaissance unit “Kotyky,” who used drones to track the column as it approached.
Using FPV drones, the Ukrainian forces destroyed two Russian T-80BVM tanks, heavily armored with additional protective structures, and two MT-LB armored vehicles, which had been used by the Russian forces as armored personnel carriers. The operators then targeted and eliminated the dismounted Russian infantry.
Earlier, a Leopard 2A4 tank from the 33rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out a successful strike on Russian positions in the Donetsk region.
The unit shared footage of the operation, showcasing the tank’s advanced mobility and precision in targeting enemy fortifications. Ukrainian forces used advanced American and German shells, including Mk 324 Mod 0 MP-HE-T and DM11, designed for high-explosive fragmentation.
