Ukrainian forces reportedly launched US-made ATACMS missiles at military sites inside Russia on November 18, with open-source analysts identifying the Baltimor airbase in Voronezh among the primary targets.

According to the Ukrainian OSINT community Kyberboroshno, video evidence captured by eyewitnesses shows distinctive smoke trails consistent with the dispersal pattern of cluster munitions carried by the ATACMS tactical ballistic missile.

Analysts believe the footage was recorded near the Russian military airfield, suggesting a potential strike on the base.

Kyberboroshno also reported that another target was likely the “Pogonovo” training ground, where a concentration of Russian personnel had been observed.

In one video, analysts highlighted four trails in the sky, indicating the moment the missile’s warhead deployed submunitions over a target area.

The strike was acknowledged by Ukraine’s General Staff, which confirmed that Ukrainian forces used ATACMS missiles to hit military infrastructure inside Russia, though without naming specific targets.

Russian sources, including pro-government media outlets, claimed that the attack occurred in Voronezh region and that three to six missiles were launched, allegedly passing over Belgorod region.

ATACMS, which can be fired from launchers such as HIMARS, are ground-launched ballistic missiles with a range of approximately 300 kilometers, enabling strikes on airfields, logistics hubs, and other high-value infrastructure far from the front line.

The Baltimor airbase hosts the 47th Guards Bomber Aviation Regiment of Russia’s Aerospace Forces. The unit operates Su-34 fighter-bombers, which have been actively used in strikes against Ukraine throughout the war.

Earlier, Ukrainian drones targeted the Kirovske airbase in occupied Crimea, damaging infrastructure used to support Russia’s Orion UAV program. The strike left burn marks near drone hangars and destroyed ground assets. The airbase had served as a key launch and maintenance hub for Orion reconnaissance-strike drones used against Ukraine.
