Ukrainian Defense Forces Hit Russian Military Storage Facility Near Russian Kursk

Overnight on July 31, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck an ammunition and military equipment storage facility near the settlement of Kursk in Russia.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to effectively target important military objects of the Russian occupiers. Hostile air defense operations and explosions were observed at targeting points," the report states.

It is noted that the combat operations were carried out by specific units of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in coordination with other components of the Defense Forces.

"Detailed information regarding the results of the strike is being clarified. Ukrainian soldiers will continue to take all possible legal measures to stop the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against our people," noted the General Staff.

On July 29, 2024, Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) confirmed that a strike targeted the Russian Olenya airfield in the Murmansk region. According to HUR spokesperson Andriy Yusov, the attack resulted in damage to a strategic bomber, the Tu-22M3.

The Olenya airfield is located approximately 1,800 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
