Ukraine’s Armed Forces carried out a nighttime strike on an oil refinery in the Russian city of Slavyansk-on-Kuban, located in Krasnodar Krai, according to Andrii Kovalenko, head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council, on January 26.
“Slavyansk-on-Kuban, Krasnodar Krai. An attack on an oil refinery has taken place,” Kovalenko said.

Local Russian authorities acknowledged the strike, reporting a fire on the refinery’s premises. The OSINT community Exilenova+ published videos said to show the moment of the attack.
Footage circulating online appears to show Russian military personnel attempting to shoot down incoming drones, followed by a visible explosion and a bright fireball rising over the facility.

Officials also reported that another, unidentified industrial site in the area was hit during the same attack.
“Flare-ups occurred on the territory of the facilities, which are being eliminated by emergency services specialists,” the Krasnodar regional operational headquarters said in a statement.
According to local residents, the fire spread to at least one storage tank used for petroleum products.
The targeted refinery is owned by the Russian energy group Slavyansk ECO and has a nominal processing capacity of approximately 5.2 million metric tons of crude oil per year, making it a significant regional fuel-processing facility.
Earlier, strike drones attacked a major oil refinery in Russia’s Samara region. The facility that came under attack that night was the Novokuybyshevsk Oil Refinery, part of Rosneft’s production network, and has an annual processing capacity of approximately 8.8 million metric tons of crude oil—roughly 176,000 barrels per day.
