Ukrainian Fencer Olha Kharlan Advances to Olympic Quarterfinals

Ukrainian fencer Olha Kharlan has advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2024 Olympics. She defeated Azerbaijani fencer Anna Bashta.

Kharlan won against Bashta, who represented Russia until 2019, in the Round of 16 of the women's sabre event with a score of 15-6. Earlier, Kharlan secured her place at the Olympics with a victory over Japanese fencer Shihomi Fukushima, finishing with a score of 15-9.

The name of Kharlan’s opponent in the quarterfinals is currently unknown.
