Ukrainian Forces Clear Vovchansk of Russian Troops As Fighting Continues in Kharkiv Region

Ukrainian Armed Forces are clearing urban areas of Vovchansk in Kharkiv region. Fighting continues, the situation is under control, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

In the Kharkiv direction, Ukraine repelled 13 attacks in the directions of Nova Tavolzhanka — Vovchansk, Shebekino — Vovchansk, Hatyshche — Vovchansk, Murom — Starytsya, Strilcha — Hlyboke, Pylna — Hlyboke, Hlyboke — Lyptsi. In this direction, the losses of Russian army amounted to 164 people and 25 units of equipment.

In the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the situation remains largely unchanged.

During the current day, Russian forces lost more than 800 personnel. Ukrainian forces destroyed and damaged 9 Russian tanks and 28 armored fighting vehicles, as well as shot down 212 Russian unmanned aerial vehicles. The tasks for the groupings of troops have been determined and communicated, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

The Russian forces are trying to gain a foothold in Hlyboke. Vovchansk is under heavy fire, the evacuation of the civilian population is ongoing.

It’s been reported that on the morning of May 10, Russia launched a new offensive in the Kharkiv region and have tactical success, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated. The President stressed that Ukraine was aware of the aggressors' plans in the region and were preparing a rebuff.
