Ukrainian military forces have conducted a precision strike on a chemical plant in Selytsо, Bryansk region, confirmed by the Command of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces. The plant, a strategic asset within Russia’s military-industrial complex, was targeted on January 13.

According to the Unmanned Systems Forces, the chemical facility produces essential components for military operations, including gunpowder, explosives, and rocket fuel. It also manufactures ammunition for artillery, multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), aviation, and cruise missiles such as the Kh-59. Additionally, the plant is involved in the maintenance of MLRS systems like Grad, Uragan, and Tornado-G.

The operation showcased coordinated efforts among intelligence units, missile forces, rocket artillery, and unmanned aerial systems. Preliminary reports indicate that drones were used to disrupt Russian air defenses, enabling missiles to accurately strike their primary targets. Following the missile attack, long-range drones neutralized critical infrastructure, including substations and other facilities.

The Bryansk Chemical Plant holds significant importance for Russia’s military capabilities. The facility supports the production of advanced weaponry, including the TOS-1 “Tosochka” thermobaric weapon system and Zemledelie remote mining systems. Ukrainian forces emphasized the strike’s role in degrading Russia’s ability to sustain its military operations.

Earlier, drone strikes targeted industrial facilities in Kazan, Tatarstan, and Engels, Saratov region, causing fires and temporary disruptions at multiple airports across Russia. In Kazan, a gas tank near the Orgsintez plant ignited, while in Engels, an oil depot reportedly caught fire. Authorities also reported the interception of dozens of drones in regions including Oryol, Tula, and Rostov.
