Footage released by the brigade shows a Russian Ural-4320 truck towing what analysts believe to be an Msta-B howitzer. The vehicle was attempting to use a flooded pontoon crossing, which had partially sunk and created a ford across the river.
Reconnaissance troops from the 47th Brigade employed a Shark drone to identify the target and provide coordinates. A strike drone from an allied unit then hit the truck, triggering an explosion of ammunition stored in the vehicle.
Open-source investigators from the WarArchive community geolocated the incident near the village of Zvannoye in the Kursk region.
Earlier in August, a Ukrainian FPV drone destroyed a bridge over the Tsata River in Russia’s Bryansk region. According to footage released by the 1st Separate Territorial Defense Brigade, the structure had been mined with TM-62 anti-tank explosives by Russian troops as a potential retreat route.
