Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR) announced a series of operations targeting Russian military infrastructure both in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories and on Russian territory on December 29. Among the key actions were the destruction of Russian communication equipment and damaging critical rail infrastructure.

HUR reported that 4 facilities belonging to the illegal Russian telecom operator “Phoenix” were destroyed in the temporarily occupied Donetsk region. Russian forces utilize the Phoenix network for operational communications.

The operations extended beyond Ukraine’s borders, hitting key targets within Russian territory. In the Leningrad region, Ukrainian forces destroyed cellular communication equipment, damaging Russian military communications. Meanwhile, three critical railway relay cabinets, vital for managing rail traffic, were damaged in the Yaroslavl region. Furthermore, a rail tanker car was destroyed in the Moscow region, exacerbating disruptions to the country’s transportation networks.

“The process of mysteriously destroying or disabling facilities used by the aggressor state in its genocidal war against Ukraine continues unabated,” HUR stated.

Earlier, Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed a Russian train transporting 40 fuel tankers in the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region, cutting off a key supply route for the Russian military.
