The Ukrainian military intelligence (HUR) launched an attack on a Russian anti-aircraft missile brigade in the Krasnodar region, according to sources from Babel and RBC-Ukraine.

The attack reportedly took place on the morning of August 8 in the village of Afipsky, targeting the 90th Russian Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade.

Two explosions were heard near the military base’s checkpoint. At least 12 Russian soldiers were killed, dozens were injured, and military equipment was destroyed.

Local security services cordoned off the area and imposed an “anti-terrorist operation” regime. To cover up the sabotage at the military base, social media circulated false reports claiming the explosions were caused by faulty vehicle equipment, Babel noted.

Sources also noted that the attacked brigade has been deployed on the frontlines in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions of Ukraine.

Previously, Ukrainian open-source investigators reported that a military intelligence drone has targeted one of Russia’s most advanced air-defense radars, the 98L6 “Yenisey,” in occupied Crimea. Analysts describe the strike as a significant setback for Moscow’s high-tech defense capabilities, according to CyberBoroshno, a Ukrainian OSINT community, on August 8.
