Ukrainian Navy Upgrades Sea Baby Drones with Salvo Firepower

Ukrainian forces are bolstering their naval defenses with an upgrade to the highly effective Ukrainian-made “Sea Baby” drone.

As reported by Radio Svoboda citing inside sources, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) recently revealed that these drones can now launch salvos of Grad rockets, expanding their capabilities beyond kamikaze attacks.

Previously, Sea Baby drones functioned by exploding on impact or near their target. This new development allows them to engage Russian positions from a distance.

According to an SBU source, the system has already been deployed “against Russian positions on the Kinburn spit,” a strategic coastal area near Mykolaiv.

While specifics of the attack remain undisclosed, the source emphasized the “powerful results” of the upgraded Sea Baby. They hinted at further advancements, stating, “So new surprises await the enemy.”

The Sea Baby’s versatility is a key advantage. The SBU source highlighted it as a “multifunctional platform that is constantly being improved.”

The Ukrainian Defense Intelligence Main Directorate has been reported to have used Sea Baby drones effectively on numerous occasions.
