A mural expressing Ukrainians’ gratitude to the people of Poland for their solidarity and friendship will be officially unveiled in Lublin, southeastern Poland, on Friday, June 20, organizers confirmed.

This was reported by Ukrinform on June 19, citing Zoriana Vavrynchuk, a representative of the NGO Communication Media Center in Lublin.

“This artistic project stands as a heartfelt symbol of the Ukrainian people’s gratitude to the residents of Lublin for their unwavering support and as a testament to the strong friendship and unity between Ukraine and Poland,” Vavrynchuk stated.

Local government representatives, officials from state and non-governmental organizations, and community members are invited to participate in the final touches and learn about the mural’s significance.

The project is supported by the Ashoka grant program and carried out under the honorary patronage of Ukraine’s Consulate General in Lublin and the Mayor of Lublin.

“This mural will serve as a lasting reminder of the close ties and mutual assistance between our nations,” Vavrynchuk emphasized.

The mural, titled Lublin — City of Rescuers: Mural of Gratitude, will be completed and presented at a public event at 12:00 pm on Ignacego Daszyńskiego Street, 19A.

On May 26, it was reported that Poland is set to spend roughly $50 billion on defense in 2025, amounting to 4.7% of its gross domestic product.
