The Ukrainian partisan group Atesh has claimed responsibility for sabotaging a transformer substation in Saratov, Russia, disrupting electricity to infrastructure linked to Moscow’s military operations.

According to a statement released by the group on May 5, the sabotage operation disabled electricity supply to two cellular base stations serving critical industrial sites in the region. Among the affected facilities are the GazPromMash oil refinery, the Pirro Group plant, and a mobilization center reportedly used to coordinate Russian military activity.

Atesh said the disruption would significantly hinder Russian logistical and communications capabilities in the area, complicating the coordination of military operations and the organization of local defense.

The resistance group has been consistently targeting Russian logistics hubs. On April 16, Atesh agents carried out a sabotage operation in temporarily occupied Melitopol in the Zaporizhzhia region, destroying a relay cabinet.
