Ukrainian Pilots Began F-16 Training in Romania, Defense Minister Umierov Says

According to Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umierov, a group of Ukrainian pilots has already started training in Romania.

"I had a productive phone call with Romanian Defense Minister Angel Tîlvăr. The key topic was enhancing the protection of Ukrainian skies from Russian missiles and drones," Umierov stated.

He also announced that Ukraine will soon receive a new Patriot air defense system from Romanian partners.

"F-16s in Ukrainian skies will also increase: a group of our pilots is currently undergoing training in Romania. I thanked my Romanian counterpart, the people, and the government of his country for their support and strengthening of our air defense," Defense Minister emphasized.

In July of this year, the European F-16 training center in Romania prepared its first group of pilots.
