Ukrainian Armed Forces veteran and film producer Volodymyr Yatsenko was awarded the Order of Arts and Letters (Ordre des Arts et des Lettres) at the Marché du Film during Cannes Film Festival on May 19.

The French Ministry of Culture established the order in 1957 to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the arts, literature, or the promotion of these fields both within France and internationally.

Yatsenko is recognized as a key figure in Ukrainian cinema, credited with producing films including “You Are Space,” “Wild Field,” “Homeward,” “Atlantis,” and “Luxembourg, Luxembourg.”

This year, he was nominated by the Ukrainian Institute and selected as an invited participant in the Producers On The Move program organized by European Film Promotion.

The award was presented by Olivier Henrard, executive director of the Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image Animée.

The Order of Arts and Letters is among France’s most prestigious cultural honors, historically bestowed on notable figures such as Jean-Paul Belmondo, Ray Bradbury, Alain Delon, Sean Connery, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Bruce Willis.

Earlier, at the Marché du Film during Cannes Film Festival, the teaser for Dovzhenko, a historical drama directed by Kostiantyn Konovalov, was unveiled.
