Ukrainian school students will soon be learning to operate FPV drones as part of the updated Defense of Ukraine curriculum.

This was announced by the Ministry of Education and Science on July 11.

The refreshed Defense of Ukraine course comes with a comprehensive upgrade in training equipment designed to prepare students for real-world challenges. As part of the program, students will have access to FPV drone simulators equipped with computers, along with drones for hands-on piloting practice. They’ll also train with radio sets to master communication skills and interactive laser shooting simulators to improve tactical awareness.

To build essential medical skills, the curriculum includes mannequins for CPR and first aid, tourniquets, bleeding control kits, and tactical medicine equipment. Students will also practice trauma care with specialized training tools.

For personal protection and safety training, the program features upgraded helmets, body armor, certified gas masks, and chemical protection gear. Modern multimedia tools, tablets, and a range of other critical supplies will support the learning process, ensuring that students are better prepared for emergencies, both on and off the battlefield.

“The updated equipment will enable students to acquire life-saving first aid skills, prepare them to use modern technologies in the field of security, develop critical thinking and resilience to disinformation, and form practical abilities for actions in emergency situations,” the Ministry stated.

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police are expanding their nationwide awareness campaign, “Expose the FSB Agent”, by holding in-person sessions with school and college students.

As reported during the national telethon, Russian intelligence has already recruited at least 14 teenagers since the start of the year, aiming to involve them in terrorist activities.
