Ukrainian air defenses have recorded a new individual shootdown record: a serviceman with the callsign “Miguel” from the 1020th Anti-Aircraft Missile and Artillery Brigade downed 24 Shahed suicide drones in a single night, according to the “Wild Hornets” team on November 18.

This achievement occurred during one of Russia's overnight mass drone assaults, setting a new record for the highest number of Shahed drones ever shot down by a one operator in a single night.

The Wild Hornets team confirmed Miguel’s record and announced an incentive program to encourage further excellence. Anyone who surpasses his result will receive 35 STING interceptors and three ground stations.

After the initiative concludes, organizers will award additional prizes to the top performers. The participant with the highest result will receive 20 STING interceptors and one ground station. The second-place finisher will be given 10 STING interceptors and one ground station. The third-place participant will receive 5 STING interceptors and one ground station.

The competition will count all confirmed shootdowns by a single operator in one day between September and December.

Earlier, a Ukrainian sniper set a new world record for the longest confirmed sniper kill, striking two Russian soldiers from a distance of 4,000 meters, Ukrainian journalist Yurii Butusov reported on August 15.

The record-breaking shot, made on August 14, was taken with a 14.5 mm Aligator sniper rifle and was executed with support from an artificial-intelligence system paired with a drone reconnaissance platform.
