4,000 Meters: Ukrainian Sniper Sets New World-Record Kill Using AI and Drones, Video

A Ukrainian sniper has shattered the world record for the longest confirmed sniper kill, eliminating two Russian soldiers from an astonishing distance of 4,000 meters, according to a Ukrainian journalist, Yurii Butusov, on August 15.
The historic shot, fired on August 14, 2025, came from a Ukrainian 14.5 mm Aligator sniper rifle and was guided by artificial intelligence working in tandem with a drone reconnaissance complex.
The bullet pierced a window where the Russian troops were positioned, just left of a visible rooftop pipe.

The record-breaking strike occurred on the Pokrovsk–Myrnohrad defensive line, within the responsibility zone of Ukraine’s “Donetsk” operational group.
The mission was carried out by Pryvyd (“Ghost”), a composite sniper detachment comprising eight sniper platoons from Ukraine’s Ground Forces.

According to military reports, the Pryvyd unit has proven devastatingly effective—eliminating nearly 1,000 Russian troops in this sector over the past year alone.
Remarkably, the previous world record also belonged to a Ukrainian. In November 2023, 58-year-old SBU sniper Vyacheslav Kovalsky eliminated a Russian soldier from 3,800 meters in the Kherson region using a Ukrainian-made multi-caliber Horizon’s Lord rifle.

Earlier, A Ukrainian sniper struck a Russian armored personnel carrier from an extraordinary distance of 1,700 meters, reportedly neutralizing the vehicle’s driver during an enemy assault operation.
