DroneUA, a resident company of Ukraine’s Diia , has begun supplying robots to NASA according to Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation.
A test batch has already been shipped to Virginia, where the robots will undergo evaluation to determine their most effective applications.
The partnership was initiated by NASA, according to DroneUA developers, who hope to establish a long-term collaboration with the U.S. space agency.
Ukraine’s defense technology sector has expanded rapidly in recent years, driven in part by wartime demand. The country’s technology firms are increasingly seeking international markets, with the export of defense and industrial equipment seen as a potential multibillion-dollar contributor to the national economy.
DroneUA is among the Ukrainian companies demonstrating the global viability of the country’s technological advancements, with applications spanning land, water, and aerospace industries.
Earlier, in late 2024, Ukraine conducted the world’s first assault using only ground and aerial drones. The operation was carried out by the 13th “Khartiia” Brigade of Ukraine’s National Guard on the Kharkiv front.
