Ukrainians Won Silver and Bronze in Men’s High Jump at the European Athletics Championships

Ukrainian athletes Vladyslav Lavskyi and Oleh Doroshchuk won silver and bronze medals in the men’s high jump at the 2024 European Athletics Championships in Rome. 

The gold was won by the Italian athlete Gianmarco Tamberi, who is a three-time European champion and Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion. In addition, he set a tournament record by jumping 2.37 m.

Vladyslav Lavskyi, making his debut at a significant international adult competition, delivered an impressive performance. he jumped a height of 2.29 meters and won a silver medal.

Bronze medalist Oleh Doroshchuk concluded the competition with a score of 2.26 meters.

This marks the second time in Ukraine's history at the Euros in men's high jump that they achieved a double podium win. Previously, Bohdan Bondarenko and Andrii Protsenko secured a golden double in 2014.
