National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov outlined the tasks facing the Ukrainian delegation during its negotiations with representatives of US President Donald Trump. He also noted that on December 8, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will receive the full briefing on these meetings.

Umerov reported this in a Facebook statement.

He stated that over the course of several days, he and the Chief of the Armed Forces’ General Staff, Andrii Hnatov, worked in the United States with Trump’s envoys. According to Umerov, on Monday, December 8, they will present Zelenskyy with complete information on all aspects of the dialogue with the American side, along with all related documents.

“The primary task of the Ukrainian team was to obtain from the American side complete information about their conversation in Moscow and all drafts of current proposals in order to discuss them in detail with the President of Ukraine,” the NSDC Secretary added.

Zelenskyy described his conversation with the US president’s team as “constructive, albeit difficult.”

Late in the evening of December 2, talks concluded in Moscow between US representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner and Russian leader Vladimir Putin regarding the parameters of a possible peace agreement in the war. After the meeting, Putin’s aide, Yuri Ushakov, said that “Some American ideas look more or less acceptable. But they need to be discussed. Some of the wording proposed to us does not suit us. So the work will continue.”

Earlier, Putin has warned that Moscow is prepared to go to war with European nations if they initiate hostilities, marking a sharp escalation in rhetoric amid ongoing negotiations over a potential US-brokered peace plan for Ukraine.
