US Approves $100 Million Sale of Military Repair Equipment and Services to Support Ukraine
The US Department of State has approved a potential $100 million sale of equipment and services to Ukraine, aimed at maintaining and repairing military vehicles provided as part of ongoing security assistance.
The decision was confirmed by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency under the US Department of Defense.
The proposed package includes not only equipment and repair services but also technical assistance, training, publications, and other logistical and software support essential for maintaining Ukraine’s military capabilities.
According to the Pentagon, the assistance will directly improve the battlefield effectiveness of the combat vehicles and weapon systems delivered to Ukraine through previous military aid packages.
The approved sale complements other US measures supporting Ukraine’s defense. Earlier this year, reports indicated that the Biden administration had allowed US military contractors to work in Ukraine, assisting in the maintenance and repair of American-provided systems.
These contractors operate far from the front lines, ensuring that critical equipment is quickly returned to operational status.
Earlier, the Pentagon announced a new $275 million defense aid package for Ukraine, including HIMARS rocket systems, Javelin anti-tank munitions, artillery rounds, and spare parts. The package, provided through the Presidential Drawdown Authority, allows for expedited delivery of weapons directly from US stockpiles to Ukraine’s frontlines.
