New US Aid Package for Ukraine to Include HIMARS and Javelins
The Pentagon is preparing a new defense aid package for Ukraine worth at least $275 million. The package is set to include HIMARS artillery rocket systems and Javelin anti-tank munitions.
This was reported by AP, citing US officials who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The latest US aid package for Ukraine will bolster its air defense capabilities, featuring High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), 155mm and 105mm artillery rounds, Javelin anti-tank munitions, and a range of other equipment and spare parts, according to US officials.
The weapons will be provided under the Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA), enabling the Pentagon to swiftly transfer supplies from its stockpiles to expedite their delivery to Ukraine's frontlines.
With Trump set to return to the White House, the Biden administration is rushing to send weapons shipments to Ukraine almost weekly to use the remaining $7.1 billion in allocated funds before President Joe Biden’s term ends.
