Usyk vs. Fury Rematch Set for December 21st in Saudi Arabia, Says Saudi Official

Undisputed world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) will have a second fight against Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs).

The head of the General Entertainment Authority of Saudi Arabia, Turki Al-Sheikh, has announced that the rematch is scheduled for December 21.

"It was a fabulous fight, two absolute gladiators who didn't leave anything in the ring in an epic fight in the most important fight of the 21st century,” says promoter Frank Warren. "A very very close fight and I think it will be an even bigger one next time."

Usyk emerged victorious via split decision when the rivals met earlier this month to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

Leading up to the match, it was widely known that the Fury-Usyk contract incorporated a rematch provision, indicating both fighters' apparent determination to uphold it later this year.
