Watch: Ukrainian MiG-29 Pulls High-G Maneuver to Evade Russian Missile

A Ukrainian MiG-29 pilot has released cockpit footage showing the moment he evaded a Russian air-to-air missile fired from roughly 45 kilometers away over the Zaporizhzhia region, on November 24.
The video, posted by the pilot with call-sign “Sava”, Air_fighter, captures real-time audio of ground controllers guiding him through the evasive maneuver as the incoming missile closed in.
“I’m not writing memoirs,” the pilot said. “I got on a combat course, a Russian bastard caught me and launched a missile at 45 kilometers.”
“After that, everything you see is on the video—I’m receiving commands from the ground on where the missile is and which aircraft is illuminating me. Then it’s just light maneuvering. You can see how easily the G-load shifts at this speed,” he said.
According to OSINT researcher Suchomimus, the interception happened over the Zaporizhzhia region.

The recorded HUD and onboard displays show rapid changes in speed, altitude, and load factor as the pilot performs a high-G defensive turn, narrowly outmaneuvering the missile.
The MiG-29, known by its NATO designation Fulcrum, is a fourth-generation air-superiority fighter originally designed in the late 1960s and early 1970s as part of a Soviet competition for a new lightweight frontline jet.
Despite its age, the jet remains a key platform for Ukraine, which has upgraded many of its remaining MiG-29s with modern avionics and compatibility for Western weapons.
Earlier, a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet used two US-made GBU-62 guided aerial bombs equipped with JDAM-ER kits to destroy a Russian crossing in the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region.
