White House Allegedly Hopes to Broker Ukraine-Russia Ceasefire by April 20

The US is reportedly aiming to broker a ceasefire in Ukraine by April 20, Easter for both Western and Orthodox churches this year, Bloomberg reports, citing sources familiar with the matter.
According to the article published on March 23, the White House hopes to reach an agreement by that date but acknowledges the timeline may shift, given the wide gap between the positions of both sides.
On March 21, US President Donald Trump, alongside Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, made remarks in the Oval Office, addressing the ongoing negotiations between Russia and Ukraine regarding achieving ceasefire.
“I believe we’re going to pretty soon have a full ceasefire,” Trump said.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that on March 24, during the meeting in Saudi Arabia, Ukraine will present the United States with a list of sites to be exempt from Russian strikes.
Current talks were not able to bring even a partial ceasefire, and Russia has continued attacking energy infrastructure across Ukraine.
On March 19, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that even after Putin claimed to order a halt to strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, 150 drones were launched, attacking, among other things, energy facilities.
